TAKE A BREAK FROM THE HEAT WAVE
To all of you who are currently relocating: we hope you have already hired a moving company. If not, give us a call!
And for all of you who are not concerned with moving: we want to provide eight tipps on how to stay cool inside during the heat wave.
Close all doors and windows durning the day. Fresh air coming in might seem like a good idea but it actually isn’t. Open up all windows at before you go to bed and in the morning for five to ten minutes when it is cooler. Shut all blinds during the day so that sunlight doesn’t heat up the rooms.
Hang up your wet laundry inside. While it dries, it absorbs the hot air in the room.
3. Turn off
Turn off all electrical appliances like the TV or computer whenever you are not using them. Most appliances emit heat which can make the temperature rise. Also, don’t use the dryer. Why? See 2. and 3.
Before you go to bed, put a shirt into the freezer for a few minutes. That will cool you down and help you fall asleep.
A lot of heat inside is produced by cooking. On hot days ist is therefore a good idea to prepare a salad or vegetable sandwiches instead.
Shower as often as you want to, just don’t turn the temperature down too much because cold water will make you sweat afterwards.
Durning a heat wave, you should drink at least 2.5 – 3 liters of water or unsweetened tea a day to keep your body hydrated.
Yes, it is important to work out on a regular basis but during a heat wave moderation is key!
